Using Filters

We have been learning about using filters with Paul Pichugin Here we have been using graduated filters. Graduated filters are dark at the top and gradually get lighter. You can use these filters to reduce the contrast between different parts of your image, to darken skies and enhance the appearance of clouds and sunsets.

Check out these great results Pene got playing with the white balance on her camera. Most camera’s (even compact camera’s) will have a white balance setting. Look for the ‘WB’ button on your camera or you may find it in your camera’s menu. You will see a series of symbols such as a light bulb, clouds, a fluro light or a sun. Try taking the same photo using the different settings and see what happens!
